So TRUE....

Don't think of organ donation as giving up part of yourself to keep a total stranger alive. It's really a total stranger giving up almost all of themselves to keep part of you alive. ~Author Unknown

Thursday Night Update...

We have a diagnosis... Adenovirus! Very benign virus in a normal healthy child, but an ugly virus in transplant kid. These results came back later this evening... I believe the treatment is supporting hydration with IV fluids, monitoring his anti-rejection drug levels (do to diarrhea), and watching for signs of rejection. Tomorrow morning my GI doctor here will speak to Georgetown to make sure this is the correct plan of action. Line placement today... Gggrrr They got a small line in today and when we began infusing through it Dev was crying in pain and his arm became red... So further studies in the morning. Thank GOD I talked the recovery room nurse out of taking out our functioning IV. Food.. I am stating facts... You all can read between the lines... 3 plates of pasta, 2 chicken breast, 2 bowls of rice, 1/2 a roll... Since 3:30 pm. I'll leave it at that. Being a little superstitious!!!! Thank you all for the prayers!!!! Please keep them comin!!!
