So TRUE....

Don't think of organ donation as giving up part of yourself to keep a total stranger alive. It's really a total stranger giving up almost all of themselves to keep part of you alive. ~Author Unknown

For The First Time...

I can honestly say for the first time... ever!!! I was suppose to call the doctor today to discuss.. labs, meds, and the over all situation and I just couldn't bring myself to call... I feel slightly guilty over this because when I need to talk to them they are always VERY receptive... BUT, I just need time!!! Nothing has changed.. Nothing is going to change right now!!! SO, why can't I just have a day or two off!!!

We have started changing over meds.. this process will take 3 to 4 days... Labs will be repeated on Monday!

I am currently working on an e-mail to the transplant team in the hope of explaining my feeling and the rational I have for them!  I know their goal is to protect the transplanted organ and the organs that play a major role in the health of the transplanted organ... BUT,  my goal is to give Devin quality of life!!! We have all worked together as a team to get Devin to where he is today. Unfortunately I get the feeling that if I choose quality of life, I just might be standing alone.!!!!     I am ok with that... if that is the way it has to be!  We are NOT treating and caring for organs and body systems!  We are treating and caring for a 8 year old little boy!!  head to toe... inside and out... We need to look at him as a complete person!!

I will NOT try to force my beliefs and feelings on anyone!  I will NOT try to convince anyone to see things my way!!   I am open to thoughts and suggestions...  I will NEVER give up the fight!!! I will ALWAYS fight for the balance of QUALITY and QUANTITY!!! I will pray every day that we can beat the rotten odds that we are faced with!!

Thank You ALL for your continued support and prayers!!!

your are breaking my heart..i want to say let him be the 8 y/o lil boy he is right now but that comes with consequences. But making the liver better makes the 8 y/o lil boy not happy.
