Their But For....

The Grace of God.... we did Devin's 3 months labs at the end of last week.... Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you want to look at it, we got a call tonight.... he is CMV positive...  Although he is Asymptomatic it is still cause for concern... CMV can be VERY bad for transplant patients!! We are extremely thankful we caught this early, having NO symptoms would have allowed it to multi in his blood making him extremely sick once he finally had symptoms...

I am sure we have a LONG day ahead of us tomorrow... Treatment is IV Ganciclovir  for 7 to 10 days and 2 negative blood cultures...   As of now the plan is to be admitted to the hospital in the morning... I'm hoping and praying that MAYBE we can have a PICC line placed and I can do this at home... I have to try and coordinate this with the transplant team and my local GI team...

I feel so bad for him.... he is LOVING school... and FINALLY playing baseball on a team... I know many of you are probably thinking I'm NUTS in the grand scheme!! But all I want is quality of life...

Once again a huge eye opener for us.... HIS LIFE CAN CHANGE WITH NO NOTICE!!!!

Praying this goes very smoothly and is just a slight bump in the road!!!!
