A Little Boys Amazing Journey & A families balance between... QUALITY & QUANTITY...
So TRUE....
Don't think of organ donation as giving up part of yourself to keep a total stranger alive. It's really a total stranger giving up almost all of themselves to keep part of you alive. ~Author Unknown

Where We Are At...
For the moment...
I am thankful I was in the shower when the doctor came after hearing what she had to say tonight... Let me start by saying their is a lot of grey in this whole picture! Unfortunately their is NOTHING glaringly apparent leading us in any direction...
I am thankful I was in the shower when the doctor came after hearing what she had to say tonight... Let me start by saying their is a lot of grey in this whole picture! Unfortunately their is NOTHING glaringly apparent leading us in any direction...
- labs look MUCH better
- x-ray looks somewhat better
- NO belly pain today
- still having diarrhea but MUCH less then he's had (only 200cc today as opposed to 1200cc)
BUT...
- he's only on IV fluids and clear liquids.... nothing else since Sunday!!
- he's lost 4 pounds... :(
Plan...
Is to try and advance his diet tomorrow to rice, plan pasta, toast... NOTHING fancy... and see where this leads us. ??? only time will tell.
Georgetown is still on the back burner... we have a colonoscopy/endoscopy time set for Friday morning if things don't improve...
DREADED CONVERSATION.....
Tonight Derrick spoke to Dr. K ( I love this woman)... (keep in mind that I missed her this morning) After going over everything with him she proceeded to tell him how Dr. K in DC is considering starting him back on TPN!!!!!!! (IV nutrition that kept him alive for the first five years) aaaahhhhhhhhh three dreaded letters I NEVER wanted to hear again!!! How could this be?? In the last 24 hours I have heard three things I NEVER wanted to hear again... bowel dilation, TPN, & rejection... I know we are NOT their yet, but I am not sure how his liver will possibly survive a course of TPN... Dr. K (here) suggested waiting it out and if need be starting PPN (slightly less harsh... still not thrilling)... Plus this means putting in a central line of some sort!! another term I never wanted to hear again!!!
I am BEYOND thankful that my GI doctor here is on and Devins BIGGEST advocate!!! not to mention a huge support for me too.. Decisions have to be made taking EVERYTHING into consideration and sometimes that can be difficult when you are in the situation... but she NEVER fails us!!!
So PRAY warriors... we NEED you!!!! Please let things turn around SOON!!!!!!
