All I Want Is BALANCE...

Well as I said in one of my previous post, we are suffering from a BIZARRE!!! issue for a bowel transplant recipient.... CONSTIPATION!!! Now here is the million dollar question... Is his liver issues causing the constipation or is the constipation causing the liver issues???  I believe a few doctors are scratching their heads over this... but I am completely frustrated by it all!!!  We are giving him Miralax everyday to try and keep a balance of things.. Blood work again on Thursday!

I feel bad for him... he is soooo tired, sooo crabby, so cranky, frustrates so easily, he is just not himself... FLAT!!! He literally sleeps approximately 16 hours a day..  and I give him credit because while he is awake he wants to do school work... read, write, homework!  He NEVER complains!! and when he gets up in the morning he is dressed ready to go!!   I just wish somebody could help us solve this mystery!!  

To ALL my transplant followers if you have any thoughts or suggestions feel free to write!!  He has NO other issues... Colonoscopy is great!!! No pain, No vomiting, No nausea... ALL labs besides Liver look good.. He eats everything and tolerates it all very well.  His anti-rejection drug level is OK but is also fluctuating do to his motility issues.....

We went to the doctor today and he said... this is such a complex case I really don't know what to say!!!  AAHHHHH!!!!! Thanks!!!!   He suggested switching some meds around because many cause drowsiness so if his GI tract is slow it will become more of a problem....  Lord Help Devin... This poor kid can't catch a break!!!

Please pray that we find a balance for Devin... He LOVES school and loves going out to play... But he is sooo tired right now he is barely making it through school... and he is NOT having as much success as he was having ;( and he realizes this!!
