A Little Boys Amazing Journey & A families balance between... QUALITY & QUANTITY...
So TRUE....
Don't think of organ donation as giving up part of yourself to keep a total stranger alive. It's really a total stranger giving up almost all of themselves to keep part of you alive. ~Author Unknown

Hard Day!!
10/9/2008
Devin's Central Line was removed today.. Devin had a long hard day filled with alot of anxiety. He has in a peripheral IV which hopefully will last a few days or atleast until his blood cultures are negative.
Even though we know that Devin's central line is his life line.... the reality of it was eye opening today. Devin needs his nutrition which can not be given through this peripheral IV. Through this line we need to give a much more dilute form of nutrition. Will he be able to maintain his dextrose, sodium, potassiun, and all his electrlytes? How do we get blood to monitor this? Will he start to loss weight? If this peripheral IV comes out or stops working what will we do??
Today has been very stressful!! and brought a hightened awareness of just how important Devin's central line is. It is truly his life line!!!
