A Little Boys Amazing Journey & A families balance between... QUALITY & QUANTITY...
So TRUE....
Don't think of organ donation as giving up part of yourself to keep a total stranger alive. It's really a total stranger giving up almost all of themselves to keep part of you alive. ~Author Unknown

Oh WHAT a NIGHT...
Last night Devin had a night dreams are made of... and I got memories I will treasure forever!!!
First I have to Thank Kate McAvoy for giving us tickets to last nights Rangers vs Devils game... As many of our followers know Devin is passionate about sports!! So to tell you he was super excited was to say the least!! and Kate ALWAYS manages to pull off some cool tickets!!!
Off to Madison Square Garden we went... leaving 2.5hrs before game time!! We arrived at 6 and the EXCITEMENT was in the air!!! After a small tug of war upon entering the Garden over a "new" hockey jersey he "needed" for $155.00... we headed to our seats!!! (PS he had on a 24 hr old hockey jersey that he picked)
During the day yesterday I received some messages that someone we knew was going to try and arrange something special for Devin... Well let me tell you... Special is an understatement!!!!
Scott McGinn through an INCREDIBLE act of KINDNESS gave Devin a better night at Madison Square Garden than Make A Wish did at Yankee Stadium!!!! Devin got to ride the Zamboni!!!! Scott came and got us half way through the first period.... It was great!! Devin got to walk along the ice, behind the benches, and he got a seat right on the ice...
Talk about good seats!!!! |
I would like to Thank Scott and all the staff at Madison Square Garden... Everyone we came across was so nice to Devin!!!! truly kind people!!! To ALL Thank You from the bottom of our hearts... Memories like these are priceless to us!!!!
Last but by far not least... While standing on line in the parking garage the 2 guys in front of us started making a fuss over Devin because he got to ride the Zamboni... One asked why'd you get to do that.. Devin said, because I had an organ transplant!! So of course that sparked their interest! Devin told them a pin head of his story and the guy took off his STICHED SHANAHAN jersey and handed it to Devin saying "GROW INTO THIS IN GOOD HEALTH" Jay (Rockland police officer) Your act of kindness is beyond words!!! I hope one day to find you to share his true journey and to tell you how you completed this already amazing night!!!!!
