A Little Boys Amazing Journey & A families balance between... QUALITY & QUANTITY...
So TRUE....
Don't think of organ donation as giving up part of yourself to keep a total stranger alive. It's really a total stranger giving up almost all of themselves to keep part of you alive. ~Author Unknown

Long Day
Devin has been admitted to RobertWood... This all began last night with severe abdominal pain. When he woke up this AM it continued. Concerned I called Georgetown and they said he needed to be evaluated... Off to the ER we went. Upon arrival he seemed better, of course. They did labs and abdominal X-rays... His labs were off.. His liver enzymes well over 1000 (normal for Devin when he has something going on) but VERY alarming to the on-call doctor n the on-call coordinator.. Than to add insult to injury the abdominal x-ray was read as a partial bowel obstruction. So word came fast we were being transferred to DC ASAP... Thank god Derrick came in and got involved... No vomiting plus a boy begging to eat...did not at the moment warrant emergent transfer to DC. Can we talk to Dr.K please!!!!!! Verdict watch in RWJ for 24 hrs if his condition worsens then we will go to DC.. labs again in AM... Fluid boluses tonight... Clear liquid challenge (as per Dr.K this will be true test of obstruction) I miss my local GI doctor, she's not on this weekend :( Everyone is afraid of him... And nobody knows him like her.. Praying for a peaceful night!!! N a speedy recovery... All he wants is to return to school Monday!!!
