A Little Boys Amazing Journey & A families balance between... QUALITY & QUANTITY...
So TRUE....
Don't think of organ donation as giving up part of yourself to keep a total stranger alive. It's really a total stranger giving up almost all of themselves to keep part of you alive. ~Author Unknown

BIG Week for Two GREAT Professions...
I can't believe it's been almost one month since I blogged last...
April was a GREAT months...
* Devin was STUDENT OF THE MONTH!! not quite sure who was more excited me or him..
* We enjoyed spring break! We didn't do anything special just played outside ALL day everyday!!! and did a lot of school work... :)
* It was organ donation awareness month... (hoping to get involved with the Sharing Network to help raise awareness within the next year)
* I've started to go back to work more regularly... LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! for more than one reason... first being, taking care of sick children and helping their families through difficult times is who I am... PICU runs through my veins!!! The second reason I love it, it speaks volumes regarding Devin's health. If I can work life is good!!! :)
As for a quick April health update.. about a week ago Derrick said, "we really need to do some labs" My response, "do we have to??" I guess not the best response but when life is going good, sometimes I just wanna go with it!!! So this week we'll do some labs!
I can't believe May is here!! HOLY!!!! where has the school year gone? It's been a SUPER EXCITING SUCCESSFUL year for us... But we'll save that for the June post... Can't brag until it's over!
This week is a VERY IMPORTANT WEEK...
It is a week that we would like to acknowledge and THANK two groups of professional that have played an unbelievable roll in Devin's journey.... Happy Nurses week, to ALL the outstanding nurses who have taken care of Devin over the last 8 years. You ladies and gentlemen ALWAYS go the extra mile!! to help make every hospital stay, procedure, and doctors visit as pleasant and uneventful as possible. You ALWAYS consider and treat the little boy in the bed and if it weren't for each and every one of you this journey would not have been as successful as it's been.... and for that Derrick and I THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! Next is.. Happy Teachers appreciation week!! Thank you to ALL the teachers involved in teaching Devin. It has been an amazing year!!! Your kindness, devotion, patience, and dedication to helping those who struggle achieve "THEIR" potential and goals AMAZE ME. You have truly made a little boys dream of going to "normal school" and "finally being normal like the other kids" come true.. NOT only did you help for fill this dream you exceeded expectations!! If Devin had his wish he'd move into PS 58!!! Derrick & I can not Thank you enough!!!!!!
