A Little Boys Amazing Journey & A families balance between... QUALITY & QUANTITY...
So TRUE....
Don't think of organ donation as giving up part of yourself to keep a total stranger alive. It's really a total stranger giving up almost all of themselves to keep part of you alive. ~Author Unknown

Done...
Devins feeding tube is back in... and he is one happy boy!! "finally I can drink without being wet"
It was a very interesting morning.. Dev woke up ready and willing to go. We spoke last night about having and IV, having to be put to sleep with propofal, and having to breath in a mask... Derrick brought a mask home from the hospital so I could show him exactly what it would be like and how we would count..
When we arrived this morning he was good. BUT he was NOT laying in the bed! and NOT taking his cloths off!! NO way NO how.. The surgeon came in and was shocked at how big he has got and how well he is doing. This is the surgeon who has taken care of Devin since day 1 !!!! multiple surgeries... multiple lines... multiple everything!! This surgeon has walked every step of the way with us!! LOVE HIM!! He sat next to Devin and talked about his I-pad and his games.. No stress!!!
Then came anesthesia... LOL... Hi Devin what's up... "I don't want propofal, I don't want an IV, and I am not taking my cloths off" Well, you can leave your cloth on... I have a special mask you can breath in so you won't need an IV or propofal... "I hate the way it smells" Well I can fix that. Do you like strawberry or vanilla.. "vanilla".. The anesthesiologist whips out his chapstick and coats the entire inside of the mask and the problem is fixed!!! LOL!!!
10 minutes procedure is done he is in recovery and ALL is good! Awake, drinking, and looking to go home!!
Thanks to everyone at NBI who made this quick and stress free for Devin...
He just asked "can I pick where we go to dinner tonight"? What? "you know to celebrate my tube" Oh his innocence.. little does he realize its a step back!!
