So TRUE....

Don't think of organ donation as giving up part of yourself to keep a total stranger alive. It's really a total stranger giving up almost all of themselves to keep part of you alive. ~Author Unknown

Feeling A Little...

OVERWHELMED!!!
1.  Tomorrow I will be having surgery on my feet.. Although I have lived with pain in my arches for years something has made me take the plunge and do something about it.. Now!!  I am getting a little nervous!!  probably more like A LOT!!!

2.  Devin's GT site needs to be surgically closed! AHH!! come to find out today as though this isn't bad enough he will be in patient, in DC for 5 to 7 days!!!!! ((WHAT)) I am freaking.. NOTHING and let me repeat NOTHING good happens in a hospital for 5 to 7 days!!!!!!!  Yes!! I am a PICU nurse and my husband a doctor.. YES!! this is our feelings!  You can have the best medical care!! with the absolute best nursing care and things still happen...
So, do I take my healthy (so to speak) immune suppressed child into the hospital to close his GT site?? or do I put the tube back in wait until the end of summer and then deal with it after pool season, vacation, and all summer has to offer??  Thoughts welcome?? LOL

3.  Add to ALL that I have a daughter graduating and getting ready for high school!!! A month full of 8th grade stuff!!

4.  My older son needs to start looking at colleges...

5.  I still have to settle Board of Education issues for Devin & arrange services for Devin for the summer...

6.  And a trip to Bermuda for me and the hubby.. which at this point I just want to cancel!!!!  I don't know what I was thinking when I got the hair brain idea that I could walk away for 5 days!!!

God give me strength!!! or  Calgon TAKE me away!!!

You ARE taking that vacation!! Don't you dare cancel. Yes you have a lot on your plate, but I feel like you have had even more in the past. You can handle it, you can handle anything. As for Devin's surgery..would you rather him sit in the hospital 5-7 days over the summer when children are fairly healthy and the hospital sees more trauma or in the fall when the bugs start coming out of the woodworks. My thought is do it now. Hugs to you and good luck tomorrow. Everything will work itself out!! It always does!
