A Little Boys Amazing Journey & A families balance between... QUALITY & QUANTITY...
So TRUE....
Don't think of organ donation as giving up part of yourself to keep a total stranger alive. It's really a total stranger giving up almost all of themselves to keep part of you alive. ~Author Unknown

I Oh... I Oh...
Off to DC we go... We are heading to DC for a visit with the transplant GI doctor and some MUCH need discussion regarding communication and issues we've been having... As many of you know Devin's health has not been good lately and it continues to remain a mystery as to why so suddenly this has happened... the loss of stamina, the re-occurring pneumonia, and just over all change in him.. Devin's medical management is somewhat like the game of "Jenga" each and every piece plays a major part in the balance if his health... one wrong move and the entire thing will come crumbling down!!!! Before a move is made you need to think about it... analyze it... weigh risk vs benefit... and then come up with a plan!! To do this communication between the doctors and the two medical centers involved MUST be nearly PERFECT!!! it can NOT go through 3 people before it gets to the attending!! This leaves to much room for assumption, perception, opinion, misinterpretation, & forgetfulness... things need to be clearly understood... When a physician calls and ask to speak to a physician calls need to be returned...
It is time for a HUGE timeout!!! We need to level the playing field and make sure we are ALL on the same page... and that Derrick and I are comfortable with how his medical care is being handled!!! Now the trick is to do this WITHOUT emotion... WITHOUT tears... WITHOUT drama... so I am leaving it up to Derrick!! LOL I have a four hour car ride to prep him... :)
To top it all off... He has been on antibiotics for over one month!!! His IV antibiotics will be complete on Tuesday... and he just doesn't look good today.. something is not right!!! My gut tells me... something is brewing!!!
