A Little Boys Amazing Journey & A families balance between... QUALITY & QUANTITY...
So TRUE....
Don't think of organ donation as giving up part of yourself to keep a total stranger alive. It's really a total stranger giving up almost all of themselves to keep part of you alive. ~Author Unknown

HOME!!!
Their is NO place like HOME!!!! We spent a week in the hospital... and their were a lot of "thoughts... n theories" but nothing rock solid until we were ready to walk out the door yesterday!! He has E-coli (a form of bacteria seen in the GI track) in his lungs!! So, I will leave out all the thought, comments, & feeling and stick to the facts... Now they have reason to believe he is aspirating his formula... for all the non-medical followers... he has formula coming up and it is going into his lungs...
I know many of my medical followers are scratching their head... Yes, he is 7... Yes, he is neurologically normal... Yes, he should be able to protect his airway... BUT most NORMAL kids don't get 2500 to 3000 cc of fluid a day.... That's 83- 100 oz of fluid every day!!! Back in August he started to have symptoms of reflux and we started Zantac. Although the symptoms improved they never went away completely..
Anything going into the lung that doesn't belong will cause lung tissue damage... therefore it is very important that we find a way to control this... so our new plan is to move all his feeds to the day time!! unfortunately I don't think their are enough hours in the day to do that... but we will give it our best.... God willing this will work... because the other options are not simple...

Praying for God's answers to your dilemma and for Devin's complete healing. So thankful they found the "name" of what's going on with him. Sending my love, hugs, and prayers to you all.
In His mighty love,
Carolyn O'Cain
