So TRUE....

Don't think of organ donation as giving up part of yourself to keep a total stranger alive. It's really a total stranger giving up almost all of themselves to keep part of you alive. ~Author Unknown

Home Resting...

Devin is resting.... coughing.... sleeping.... Labs look better then his symptoms... amazing & strange all in one!! how can he be sick yet their is no indication in his lab work... hhmmm no fever, no abnormal labs.. just cough, belly ache, and headache... what to think?? hope & pray, this is NOT the calm before the storm!!! and instead just the fact that we started antibiotics with the onset of symptoms...

Rumor has it their is a stomach virus on our block... & it is going through our local schools... aahh, just one more thing to stress over! Derrick has also been seeing H1N1 (swine flu)....

Summer, warm beautiful weather... PLEASE come soon!!!

*** PLEASE*** today remember Tina, Chuck, & Zach.. Thomas will be laid to rest tomorrow.. I am so torn... I wanted to be their for Tina & Chuck but unfortunately Devin's health is not 100% right now and he
needs me too... me leaving and going to VA for 2 days is not in his best interest... Prays & HUGS from NY!!!
Thomas... will forever be a part of our hearts!! I remember after transplant Devin wanted to get up and walk just to see who all the nurses were making a fuss over next door to us... from their first meeting Devin was convinced Thomas "needed" to see him... this was fine with us because he had to get up and walk for this to happen... I know Devin has a very special guardian angel watching over him now... Thomas we love you!! your big bright smile made a difference in Devin's life & recovery!!!! and we sure hope Devin made a difference in yours!!!

Sitting On The Edge...

Devin has come down with a cough.... spoke to the infectious disease doctor today and started antibiotics... even if it is viral she is concerned with secondary bacterial infections... waiting to here from the transplant doctor regarding his immune suppression... sometimes to get him over the hurdle we lower his immune suppression to allow him to recover..... no fever, yet!!! can we make it through another illness without a visit to the ER... As you all know their are only two ways this can go.... Lets pray!!

Spoke with the transplant coordinator.... labs in AM to get his levels... and then we will go from their... possibly a chest x-ray too... lets see what the night brings!!

On A Sad Note...

Devin's little friend Thomas passed away this morning.. Please pray for Tina, Chuck, Zach, & their entire family during this time of sorrow!
