A Little Boys Amazing Journey & A families balance between... QUALITY & QUANTITY...
So TRUE....
Don't think of organ donation as giving up part of yourself to keep a total stranger alive. It's really a total stranger giving up almost all of themselves to keep part of you alive. ~Author Unknown

Frustrated.. Overwhelmed... Concerned...
It is apparent Devin is having some intestinal issues... During the course of this week he had an increase in stool output, but was eating significantly more by mouth... that was my rational for that.. Then the OT & the tutor had some concern over his listening and his attention during the week.... I assumed he was getting sick of the daily grind and maybe even bored with the whole routine.... A couple of days last week he did vomit up a little but nothing to significant... I assumed his GI track was a little slow, nothing to concerning...
On Friday we headed off to the GI doctor. We were so excited to see her, we haven't seen her in awhile... I've been so happy with the way Devin's been looking.... well my bubble was burst rather quickly upon arrival.... Devin lost 3.5 pounds & his Liver numbers are elevated... AHHH!! how could this be.. He LOOKS GREAT!!!
Well, when I sat with the GI doctor and spelled out the happenings of the week completely it all started to sound a little more concerning... * Increase in food..... weight loss... behavior changes... vomiting... watery stool... all equals one thing... POOR INTESTINAL ABSORPTION!!!
To say I am concerned is to say the least!!! We have done Pedialyte for the last 24 hours which he did not tolerate great.. Today we've moved on to 10 calorie formula... Which so far he did not tolerate great! We'll see what tomorrow brings!!!
This all goes back to the one question.... IF HIS HEALTH IS NOT IDEAL.... IF HE IS NOT ABSORBING HIS MEDS... IF HE IS NOT FEELING GOOD... HOW CAN HE FUNCTION & LEARN..... Will their ever be balance ?? I am thinking I need to re-define "NORMAL" for his school year!!!
Please Pray that we are just dealing with a little GI bug... & NOT rejection!!!!

WOW Colleen... you've been busy this weekend!! Awesome new site - I love it :)
Sorry to hear about yet another worry - you guys certainly have had a bumpy road. Prayers that this is "just a bug" & that "normal" returns to your home soon.
((hugs))
Agreed....LOVE the new site!
Sorry about the GI issues. And I totally agree with you finding a new "normal" for the school year. It's just not worth it - in the big picture.
Love you lots!!!!!!! Praying for relief!
Love the new website. Still keeping up with and praying for Devin and your family.
In His great love,

Sorry I am a little delayed in responding. My heart goes out you, Col. The rollercoaster ride that is your life must be exhausting. I can't thank you enough for driving all the way out to spend just a few minutes with me last week. Having people like you in my life is a blessing. I keep you all close to my heart and in my thoughts and prayers. My hope for Dev is what it had always been... Quality of life and happiness. I wish that for you too. Be good to yourself! XOXO, Er
