In DC...
We arrived in DC today to prepare for Devin's Colonoscopy and Endoscopy tomorrow morning.. Their is no easy way through this... being 6 and needing a bowel prep is not fun!! He has been a trooper today.. spent most of the day watching his DVD's and playing his PSP.. every now and then complained of belly pain.. and at times stopped long enough to ask about the IV that needs to be put in and the sedation that needs to be given.. both of which he hates!!
I pray that all goes smoothly in the AM... the IV is in on 1 stick, the bowel looks beautiful, and the biopsies are perfect... See you in 6 months... I sure can hope!

I feel as though I have been on the treadmill of life since October... I am so tired!! I am running out of energy, strength, and drive... Their is NOT a day that goes by that their isn't something going on... something to worry about... if it's not medical, it's emotional, if it's not emotional it's academic... can we PLEASE just have one NORMAL day... a day without medical equipment beeping... alarms ringing to remind me of medications to give... blood sugars to take... waiting for the phone to ring with lab results or doctors opinions.... calls to be made... e-mails to be written... appointments to be kept.... This is a 24/7 life....
I so badly wanna say, IT's THE SUMMER AND WE ARE JUST HAVING FUN... But, that would not be the responsible thing to do... so instead we will pack in the tutor, add some occupational therapy, and a little speech therapy to TRY and make up 12 weeks of absence in one school year.... In between that we will fit in a colonoscopy, endoscopy, plenty of doctors visits, labs, and the beat goes on.... and on.... and on!!!!
