We Are Back On The Road...

Thank you for all the support and prayers....Devin is extubated this morning and doing well.. This has been a very bizarre turn of events... We have so many questions, that they can't seem to answer... As I was told yesterday, instead of looking down look up because thats who's hands it's in.... The transplant surgeon assures us that he will make a full recovery and it will not affect his bowel transplant... Just take more time...
The plan is to stay in the ICU today to monitor him... He will not be able to eat or drink for two weeks. This will allow the pancreas to heal.. Next week he will have a Cat-scan to check his pancreas. He will have his third bowel biopsy Monday. In the mean time he is getting big gun antibiotics, fluids, and some electrolyte replacement. He has two drains in his abdomen, an NGT in his nose, a central line back in his neck, a foley catheter and a fresh incision the legnth of his abdomen.... Talk about a set back...
Well.. as I was told yesterday.. instead of using my energy on trying to figure out what happened and focusing on the negative of it all.... I need to channel that energy into where I want him to be.... Those of you that really know me are laughing right now... Derrick keeps reminding me!!
